Cluster OpenNational Pathogen Resource Bank
We contribute to the advancement of healthcare projects through the collection, management, and promotion of pathogen resource utilization.
The NCCP serves as the national authority and deposit registration and preservation institution in accordance with Article 8 of the ACT ON THE PROMOTION OF COLLECTION, MANAGEMENT, AND UTILIZATION OF PATHOGEN RESOURCES and Articles 8 and 10 of the ACT ON THE ACQUISITION, MANAGEMENT, AND UTILIZATION OF BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH RESOURCES.
To collect and collaborate on valuable domestic and international pathogen resources, we have established networks with specialized pathogen resource banks by field and institutions such as the German biological resource center (DSMZ), and perform pathogen acquisition, resource management, and distribution in accordance with the international biobank standard (KS J ISO 20387:2018) and quality management system (KS Q ISO 9001:2009).
Information on pathogen resources is provided through the National Culture Collection for Pathogens website http://nccp.nih.go.kr and the Pathogens Information Management System (PIMS).
