01 Searching and Inquiring about Pathogen Resources
  • How to Apply for Distribution
    1. Access and apply through the online pathogen resource distribution portal http://is.kdca.go.kr
    2. Inquiries about distribution: 043-913-4261, inquiries about resources: 043-913-4260, inquiries about permissions: 043-913-4270
02 Completing and Submitting the Distribution Application
  • Apply using the pathogen resources online distribution portal
    1. Complete the distribution application form (1 copy)
    2. Prepare the pathogen resource management and utilization plan (1 copy)
      • Submit facility photos or research facility installation and operation registration confirmation (BL2 level or higher)
      • Facility photos with biosafety signs: autoclave, incubator, biological safety cabinet, storage equipment
    3. Register the official distribution request letter and submit the application form (1 copy) * Refer to the website “Information Plaza > Bulletin Board” for required documents
03 Receipt, Review, and Notification (National Culture Collection for Pathogens)
  • For distribution for educational or research purposes
    • Review: Within 10 days from the date of receipt
    • Distribution period: Within 30 days after notification of results
  • For distribution for purposes other than education or research
    • Requires review by the Deposit and Distribution Resource Review Committee
    • Review: Within 30 days from the date of receipt
    • Distribution period: Within 30 days after notification of results
04 Confirmation of Response
  • Response procedure via the online pathogen resource distribution portal
    1. One copy of the acknowledgment letter (based on the internal format)
    2. Two copies of the pathogen resource distribution agreement
      • The applicant and the bank each keep one copy (original)
    3. One copy of the pathogen resource receipt
    4. Purchase of government revenue stamp (distribution fee) – if using an electronic revenue stamp, issue and print (original) via www.e-revenuestamp.or.kr
      • Can be purchased at post offices (usage: administrative fee)
05 Resource Receipt
  • Method of receipt: Pathogen resources are primarily collected in person, but delivery by courier is possible for some pathogens (freight collect).
  • After distribution, a pathogen resource distribution information sheet is provided (resource information, culture conditions, biosafety level, regeneration method, and precautions).
  • Viruses and antibodies must be collected in person, with dry ice and a box prepared.
  • For resources that fail to regenerate or are contaminated, contact the National Culture Collection for Pathogens within 30 days of receipt (redistribution possible after review).
