KCTC Distribution Guidelines

  • The KCTC provides microbial, microalgal, and animal/plant cell line resources for research in biotechnology and related industries. Applicants must possess knowledge of the culture and storage of the strains and belong to institutions with appropriate facilities for strain handling. For health and safety reasons, individual requests are generally not accepted. Distributed resources cannot be transferred or redistributed to third parties and are only to be used for non-commercial purposes. Resources are provided only after payment of the distribution fee.

KACC Distribution Guidelines

  • The KACC, a national institution, grants membership only to individuals affiliated with organizations that possess the facilities and expertise to handle microbes, in order to prevent social damage from misuse.
  • In educational institutions, only full-time teachers at high schools or lower may register, while at universities, only full-time lecturers or higher (excluding research professors and graduate students) may register. In national/public research institutes and businesses, only full-time researchers may become members. Individuals not affiliated with an organization generally cannot become members, except in special cases.
