Distribution Guidelines

01 Registration
  • Researchers in charge (hereinafter referred to as the “Applicants”) and their co-researchers must register as researchers on the K-Brain Net portal.
  • The K-Brain Net portal administrator will review the registration and notify approval via email.
  • The Applicants can check the progress from preliminary review to completion of the distribution on their My Page in the K-Brain Net portal.
02 Preliminary Review
  • The Applicants must submit a preliminary review request to the K-Brain Net Distribution Desk to verify the availability of cases (resources) required for the research.
  • The K-Brain Net Distribution Desk reviews the appropriateness of the submitted preliminary review application and accepts it.
  • Preliminary review is conducted once a month, based on applications received by the first Monday of each month (or the next business day if it falls on a public holiday).
03 IRB Review
  • The Applicants must describe the selected cases (resources) and the list of co-researchers (if applicable) in the IRB research proposal and submit it to their institution’s IRB for review according to the preliminary review results.
04 Submit Application
  • The Applicants must complete the brain research resource application form and submit the required documents to the K-Brain Net Distribution Desk.
  • The desk reviews the submitted documents for completeness and accepts the application.
05 KBBN Distribution Review
  • KBBN distribution review is conducted once a month, targeting applications received by the first Monday of each month (or the next business day if it falls on a public holiday).
06 KBBN IRB Review
  • KBBN IRB review is conducted once a month for applications approved in the distribution review.
07 Delivery/Receipt
  • If approved by both the distribution review and KBBN IRB, the KBBN Brain Bank delivers the resources via the method selected by the Applicant.
  • The Applicants must confirm receipt of the resources and provide feedback on satisfaction via My Page on the K-Brain Net portal.
08 Utilization Report
  • When the usage period of the distributed resources ends, the Applicants must submit a utilization report and related attachments (e.g., academic presentations, patents) through My Page on the K-Brain Net portal.
