The Fisheries Life Resources Information Center supports the national conservation, management, and utilization of marine life resources.
As the responsible agency for marine life resources, the NIFS carries out tasks to nationalize fisheries life resources and support the bioindustry.
To efficiently carry out legal tasks such as the acquisition and analysis of marine life resources, specimen creation and management, distribution, deposit, and donation management, the center was established in accordance with the ACT ON SECURING, MANAGEMENT, AND USE OF MARINE FISHERY BIO-RESOURCES and its enforcement decree.
This center has established a process for the distribution and deposit of marine life resources, providing researchers from academia, industry, and research institutions the ability to easily distribute and donate resources online.
Additionally, the center is constructing a database and operating an information system to digitize marine life resources, offering relevant information about species, export approval targets, and resource grades to both researchers and the public.
